
It was 1976. I had just started senior high school, and music had completely taken over my life. The Bee Gees’ “Jive Talkin’” was constantly playing in my head, alongside David Bowie’s “Fame,” “Smokin’ in the Boys Room,” “Stairway to Heaven,” and other classics that seem to have achieved immortality in school hallways even to this day.
The school that would be my home for the next three years was alive with music. I found myself buying albums based on what other kids were listening to. Around this time, I also made my second investment in technology—a Seiko calculator alarm watch. Amazingly, it still works!
